I’ve got no idea how many times business people and venture capitalists have said that to me, but if I could, I would have personally, slowly, stabbed them in the heart for doing so.
I believe it was over at Mano’s that I hypothesized that Trump would stop appearing in New York soon, because he wouldn’t want to get perp-walked. Unfortunately I make so many snarky comments all over the place, I can’t find it or I could prop up my credentials as a psychic with it.
I am going to try to de-convolute something that is so convoluted I’m having trouble even spelling “convoluted.” I will begin with a summary of facts, and then discuss them in more detail.

We are going to have to endure some gruesome back-patting from the establishment’s permanent war party, as they jump up and down and cheer wildly for having killed an unarmed man who was trying to run away.
The recent scandal about college admissions was hardly the canary in the coal mine that we needed to warn us that the US is not a meritocracy. You’d have to be blinkered and blindfolded and white to believe that, but now it’s pretty obvious that the oligarchs are done pretending.
There was a great moment in Woody Allen’s Bananas, in which the US is intervening in a CIA-sponsored “revolution” in a central american “banana republic” – the viewpoint switches to a bunch of US Army commandos in a C-130 getting ready to parachute down to overthrow the government: “The CIA has guys on the other side, so no matter who wins we’re on the winning side.”
I believe that the future of navies was written on the wall by the nazis. It just has taken a while for the technology to catch up.
I stumbled across this due to a poorly-constructed google search. Search-botch-browsing is a whole new category of entertainment, as far as I am concerned; sometimes you find really interesting stuff.
Lost in all of the noise about Trump’s impeachment, is a bit of fact-nugget about how the US is diligently trying to make the world a worse place.
