I’m sure that racists would come up for other ‘reasons’ for their hatred (perhaps they’d blame it on hiphop) but, unfortunately, for now, we’re stuck with pseudoscience.

My theory of republican projection predicts that the reason republicans are so “worried” about vote fraud in mail-in ballots is because they’re frauding the hell out of things. We’ll see. Out here in Pennsylvania, on the rural back road, there is zero excitement for Biden; it’s all Trump signs. And confederate flags.
There’s a lot of talk going around about whether there’s going to be a civil war in the US. If you’re worried about that, let me adjust your fears, slightly. The situation is dangerous, and we should collectively respond by ruthlessly disempowering the republican party, then turning on the democrats and forcing them to split into progressives and centrists – and then controlling their agenda. That probably won’t happen, so let me just console you about the civil war.
For those of you who think that 2020 is the worst year ever, consider the possibility that there is no bottom to how bad things can get.
Yesterday I published a posting that was substantially wrong. Ow! [stderr] But, it got me looking into the question of how cop departments pay off awards against them. It’s unsurprisingly murky, but there are stories that indicate how the delicate maneuvers are made.
I’m not a fan of criminal justice systems, since they are often poorly concealed state authortarianism, i.e.: in the US it’s a racist/classist arm of the racist/classist state. Ugh. But this tickles my fancy, right now.
If the US political news weren’t already over-saturated with the smoke and flames from the multiple murder dumpster fire that is the executive branch, maybe there would be some attention spared for the tragedy of another oligarch whose turn it is, having to actually struggle to access power.
Some of you have doubtless heard of the Haymarket Affair.
In the comments on my previous posting, someone mentioned deep sea oil rigs. Now, there’s a captive work-force. So, I was curious.
I have written before about the battle of Matewan, [stderr] which was a small engagement in what later was known as “The Coal War.”
