The party of “states rights” has decided that California can’t have a ‘net neutrality’ law.
It’s unfashionable to make moral equivocations between 9/11 and what the US and its allies have done in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Libya. It was a cruel and malicious act of terrorism, without a doubt, and triggered an amazingly violent – indiscriminately violent – response from the US. The US regime’s reaction to 9/11 was one of those “If A wrongs me, I am going to feel justified in wronging B and C in return.” Except, of course, ‘retaliation’ doesn’t apply when you’re claiming revenge on the wrong target. As the US did, knowingly and deliberately.
The US regime will never fully abandon its slave-keeping ways until it has been 1) disarmed, 2) dismantled, 3) reconstructed with a constitutional government that respects its own rules and does not vote-suppress, red-line, commit crimes against humanity, or slavery.
Fake news. So what? Doesn’t everyone realize that all news is fake to some degree or another? Yet, we are supposed to get excited about it, because it is the reigning popular explanation for the spectacular failure of the American political system.
As expected [stderr] the wars in Syria and Iraq have devolved into a horror show of human tragedy. And, to exacerbate it, you’ve got America’s fondness for saturation bombing civilians with high explosive.
This has become a theme of mine: who knows what, and when.
It must be a constant source of humiliation for journalists that have to pretend to swallow something obviously absurd, so that they can appear to be impartial. As we’ve seen since 2018 that does not result in good public policy unless your idea of good public policy comes from a Monty Python sketch.
