At the Phipps Conservatory

Last weekend my friend in Pittsburgh and I went to visit the Phipps Conservatory.

Pittsburgh’s a great town, with lots of cool museums and galleries (home to the Andy Warhol gallery, Carnegie Museum, Phipps Conservatory, Frick Art Collection, etc.) also there’s way too much great food to be found there, according to my expanding waist-line.

Bring Me To Life…

In the recent thread discussing Lao Tzu [stderr] commenter obscure1 mentioned Chuang Tze as having “a cast of characters” and it reminded me of a thing that I discovered about myself back in 2008. The market was crashing and people all around me were losing their jobs. Companies weren’t hiring high-priced consultants, either, so I had a lot of free time and decided to catch up on re-reading my shelf of philosophy.

LaveCon 2017

Last year I went to LaveCon, and I’m going again this year. It’s a small conference held in Northampton, devoted to Elite: Dangerous. There, I will probably make an ass of myself, because that is traditional.
