Usually, we don’t get snow up here until December.
The light dusting makes everything look dark and crisp and gothic.

Light dusting?
Effete Southerners. We have 12 or 15cm of snow, -15C temps and bright sunshine.
Rather than “dark… and gothic” we are in need of sunglasses and sunscreen.
Very weird weather for the middle of November.
It was 80 degrees and dry as a bone here in Northern California. Our Season of Fire and Dust. But people who claim we have no fall color are absolutely nuts. Especially in vineyard country, but also in towns with developed urban canopies (Sacramento is absolutely stunning in November!) and even some of the forest-the ones that have not burned, at least. :(
That would make a great California Black Metal band name, “Seasons of Fire and Dust”
@bmiller
That would be a good title for an Australian novel too!

That’s really good. It’d work for a neo-mongol metal group, too.
