This morning was lovely and bright. It’s amazing how quickly the trees change color once they start.

In the last couple of weeks, night time temperatures have been dropping to around 50F. This is my favorite time of year because you can wear a hat and a coat and be snug while the air feels crisp and sharp.
There’s one part of my property that’s basically a bog. Things grow really well there, because there are a half-dozen springs that ooze water even in dry summers. So far, anyway; I’m sure eventually the frackers will drain the water-table.
This is the view Saturday night. Some of the trees have gone chrome-yellow.
As I predicted, the changes in light make it hard to see how the color of the leaves changes.
Next year I have it in my calendar to look at setting up a time-lapse camera to record the fall colors.
This is turning out to be one of those dumb ideas.
I’ll see if I can do a series of these, as the trees colors change.
This is a shot I took out of a moving car, back in 2008.
Usually fall is a very busy season for me, but this year I have a reduced schedule because I didn’t book any events (I thought I was going to be running tech for a start-up, but it fell through). Since hunting season is coming, I’ve been taking the drone on patrols and waiting with bated breath for the leaves to turn.
