Holidays: de fiesta 2

To us, the highlight of the festival was the “Dance of the Dragons”. Groups from the city itself and the surrounding communities would come with their dragon figures and “dance”. They put fireworks into the mouths and talons of the dragons and danced through the streets with everybody following them, with bands and music and everything.

It was an amazing experience. Only the pics are bad and in between my batteries gave out.

I assume this is in Frankfurt, from the first picture? I didn’t know they went in that much for dragons!

No, it’s the city of Mataró. I think german authorities might not like this awesome form of fireworks display :D

These Dragons look amazing and that kid was/is me on new years eve (well, just the earprotection actually).

re pic #6: LOL!! That guy in the red headgear looks kind of wary of the fireworks spouting from the mouth of that dragon!

Oh my, that looks like fun. Who doesn’t love dragons in the street? Although the fellow with the ear protection might have the right idea -- those firecrackers look awfully close to the crowd.
