Another Day, Another Teeny Tantrum.

Jewish Virtual Library.

In yet another tantrum, Donny has declined to visit the Masada Fortress because he can’t land his helicopter on it. He canceled, rather than have the helicopter land at base, and take a cable car up. For Fuck’s Sake, you little twit, you are not emperor of the world. The Fortress, as most people know, is extremely old and easily damaged. The sheer amount of dust also makes landing a helicopter dangerous to all involved. Also, just how much of an idiot do you have to be to pass up a chance to see Masada? Yeah, I know. Fuck, I would love to be able to stand so steeped in history. What an experience.

President Donald Trump has canceled a planned visit and speech at the ancient mountain fortress of Masada in Israel after authorities told him that he could not land his helicopter on top of the UNESCO-listed site.

Instead, Trump will now deliver a speech at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. It comes after an Israeli Air Force (IAF) regulation that prevents helicopters landing at the summit of the Masada site, according to Israel’s Channel 2 broadcaster.

Unlike former presidents who have made the trip, such as George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, Trump declined to land the helicopter at a base of the historic site and then take the cable car up, preferring to cancel the visit altogether.

Where the hell is Washington DC Nagahame when you need him? There’s a teeny tyrant who could use a lesson in manners.  Via Raw Story.

Speaking of stupid, ill-mannered tiny tyrants, the one named Donny also thinks he’s going to be able to hire Flynn again.

He shoulda walked up the ramp. It was good enough for the Romans.

Seriously, though: dust? Helicopter crash? Other than the pilot getting hurt I’m not sure what’s the problem. Maybe they should have flown him up in a VF-22 Osprey. They crash even more often.

  2. says

I would take issue with killing him via crash on top of Masada. Do you know how old it is? No, can’t have that. Pick somewhere else.

  3. cartomancer says

Ironic, really, given that the fortress at Masada that we know was essentially King Herod’s Mar-a-Lago, where he retreated when governing Judea got too much for him. Herod is quite a good parallel for Trump, actually, given that he was a tyrant king installed by foreign (Roman) help, with a suspicious and hostile attitude towards his people and a penchant for lavish and extravagant building projects. He even had a famous wall -- the Wailing Wall of the Temple at Jerusalem.

  4. lumipuna says

I didn’t know it was customary for US presidents to visit Masada. Is it about honoring the history of Jewish struggle? Maybe that’s really why Trump skipped it, as he wants to make his own balance between appearing pro-Israel and anti-Semitic.

  5. says

lumipuna, no, it’s not customary to visit Masada. Israel, yes. This isn’t about Trump appearing balanced, he wouldn’t know to do that anyway. He’s pro-Israel.

  6. lumipuna says

OK, I meant customary as in “at least two other presidents in recent history have gone there”.

Also it was maybe not a good word choice to use “balance” for this compromising between pro Israel pandering and anti-semite pandering, inasmuch as those even conflict with each other.

(And that was enough of me splaining US politics for Americans.)

  7. busterggi says

I’d hate to endanger a pilot but if there’s a really good chance the copter would crash maybe we could send Donald up in one that’s remote controlled.

If he isn’t stopped now there’s no telling how much damage he may to to the whole world.
