I made the “uptown shiv” and it turned out, as I had feared, it was a bit too ostentatious.
Unfortunately, they won’t give it back. But I guess that’s OK since I know where I can get more like it. ;)
I made something a bit more compact:
1080 high carbon and 15N20 nickel steel low layer twist, shaped and ground then fine-polished on a surface plate. You can see it’s pretty shiny and flat. Handle is cocobolo.
You can’t tell from this angle (and I didn’t get good pictures in controlled light) but the back of the blade is a bit more than 1/4″ thick. It’s a great big hulking slab of stab.

It’s also beautiful ;-D

It *is* beautiful.
Do you have a photographer’s scale that you could include in your photos?

That’s a good idea. I’ll try to do that in the future.
This thing is about 14cm long (in the scabbard)

You’re thinking small: Sovereign citizen accused of decapitating landlord with Samurai sword in rent dispute .

Oooo, so very shiny! I like how you managed to capture your reflection in the blade. It’s a lovely piece. Simple yet elegant.
I’m currently working on the pattern for a bias cut dress with a single seam, due to a previous thread here.
Why do simple and easy, when you can do technically difficult and precise instead?
