Since Cawthorn appears to be incapable of telling the truth about anything, that’s going to kill his career, right? Actually, there are signs that he may be burning out his welcome – he’s been pocketing a lot of money from his re-election campaign, which is a no-no even for a republican, if he loses.
His press release statement about this thing blowing up was a sight to behold; he said it’s bad that people are using his stories of cocaine orgies to tar his fellow Republicans are cocaine-orgy-havers, but also very obviously avoids saying that it isn’t his fellow Republicans he was talking about.
Goddam whippersnappers have no fukkin respect for the Congressional traditions!

He has to be talking about Republicans, because he specifically said it was people, “a lot of them that I’ve looked up to through my life.” If not Republicans, he’d be admitting he once admired Demonrats?? *gasp!*
Much as I’d love to believe Cawthorn’s story, it’s a bit much to accept that
a) Republicans would be having said orgies,
b) which women, no matter how well paid, would be willing to attend
c) without the whole thing leaking to the press as soon as it began
c) and that they would invite a schlub like Cawthorn, unless
d) they made sure they had some good blackmail material on him first.
Much easier to believe that Cawthorn is just a lying headline-grabbing liar. That doesn’t strain my creditibility one iota.

I also find it hard to imagine that congresspeople would be so restrained in their cocaine use. Personally, I think that Cawthorn is (because that’s all he does) talking about himself, through a fantasy-lens. He’s talking about what he wants to do, but Matt Gaetz isn’t inviting him to his evenings out.
