    @ Marcus, the concept of Liberty is of course entirely imaginary and evaporates like any stress related illusion when the battle is over. Just like that half naked bare footed woman in a soldier’s feverish dreams, she’s not there in the morning.
    @Charly, strong pants are worth something to a live soldier, the dead don’t benefit from them. Stealing your slain enemy’s boots, clothes, jewellery, gold teeth etc is traditional.
    If your General suddenly promises you freedom after the next pitched battle, you’ll shortly be dead and pantless too.
