The hails look like pearls strewn on the ground.

Not an association that comes to mind when they make holes in your trees or worse, your roof.

    That’s beautiful.

Friends of mine in Oklahoma got hit by a freak hailstone about the size of a cinderblock. It went right through the roof and exploded their kitchen. The insurance adjustor was pretty amazed!

We got lucky with the Tuesday storm, just a brief flurry of hail, then just hard rain. We’ve had a fair amount of hail damage over the years, but the worst was about 15 years back. Like most everyone else, our car was a mass of dents, and all the auto repair places were booked months in advance; roofers were booked 2 years in advance.

You found the perfect background to photograph hail. Great shots, all of them.

They are like glass beads. We’ve had quite summery weather here but not the summer-opening hailstorm (storm is a bit strong word, a little bit hail coming down followed by sunshine). Good that you didn’t get the worst of it.

So that’s where our incoming Arctic front went! Can you send it back, please? And thanks for taking the ‘wild’ out of it, we need some nice quiet rains, but only after Sunday -- summer birthday parties are better outside, especially with kids.
