That was Pearl. She was terribly shy, and not at all social, with rats or people. Turns out she was the longest lived of the old crew, 3 years and 3 months old.
It’s the third shot that got me. The little grey one covering his head with those little pink feet. Also, the first shot. What could be more fun than a bowl full of baby rats? Ok, the last shot, too. I used to have a cat exactly the same colour as the top sandy beige one. Alright, all the shots have me smiling. They look so curious. It must be a bit like a circus when they’re young!
