Not to pick nits, but that is not a wasp, but a hornet Vespa crabro. But it is a beautiful picture of a scary creature.
Charly is right, it’s a hornet. They were out by the dozen, taking advantage of the rotting grapes.
Personally, I like them way more than wasps, because they leave you in peace.
They were also very cooperative, unlike some birds I know…
