    Lawren Harris told Carr “You are one of us”. These days, she and Tom Thomson are better known than some of the Seven.

    The first time I went to the McMichael gallery was on a school trip soon after my family moved to Canada. A.Y. Jackson was there, very old but still working, I think. I got his autograph. Lost it, of course.
