This adorable young fellow is George, the wire-haired Miniature Dachshund belonging to Raucous Indignation. George was adopted by Raucous as a puppy and he celebrated his first birthday a few days ago on December 28. I can’t think of a better way to start the New Year, than with a great big dose of cute. Thanks, Raucous, George has stolen my heart with his big eyes and fabulous, bristly whiskers.
Cute overload. Rauhaardackel are adorable.
George has good taste in automobiles!
This is too much. The levels of cuteness displayed in that third photo should come with a warning. George is adorable.

Aww, George is incredibly cute. In Finnish the breed is karkeakarvainen kääpiömäyräkoira (rough-haired dwarf badger dog/hound). George would be Yrjö, Jyrki, Jori or Jyri.
Wait, “badger hound” sounds intimidating! Or does that just mean they have an affinity for badgers?

Dachshunds were bred to have short legs so that they would be able to fit in badger (Dachs in German) setts, for hunting purposes. I hope that this one just has an affinity for badgers. 8-) In Finnish, the word koira just means dog and it is used in both contexts in which ‘dog’ and in contexts in which ‘hound’ would be used in English.
Mäyräkoira is also a colloquial name for a long 12-pack (2x6) of beer bottles.
