Forest Path Statues – Part 5 – Lamps

A few of the statues had an abstract look to them and they had metal hooks, very probably for hanging up lanterns.

These are so cool, especially the third one. I think this may be my favourite part of the series so far.

    I really couldn’t pick a favourite.
Do you do “night walks” in the Czech Republic? In Germany they’re probably every kid’s favourite part of overnight school trips and such. You take torches and walk through the woods. Now I imagine coming upon those lamp posts with lit lamps and some task or surprise at each one of them…

Oh I love that third one -- I think it’s an octopus holding up an army helmet to try and trick someone.

It would be so cool to take a walk in the woods at night, as Giliell suggests, with these lit up! That would be positively magical.

@Giliell, I am not aware of any such tradition in CZ. That does not mean there is none, since I do not care about tradition overmuch.

There used to bea a chinese lantern procession on 7th of November during the communist regime.

A walk at night with the lanterns lit would be very special. So would a daytime walk. We have no such traditions here (our stumps remain stumps) and it must be wonderful to happen upon one of these sculptures.
