:D There’s a nice bit of 12th century medicine. I’m afraid that all the actual medical treatments shown and addressed only make a person very happy they are in this century.

Those little circles are cautery points. Yikes. The hemorrhoid treatment looks damn scary, too.

    Pretty much any medically historical text makes me happy to live in the 21st century of readily available science-based medicine.
    I’m still mesmerized, though, by the idea that the best way to get items and humans from space onto a planetary surface… is to drop them. For some reason, the two ideas go together for me as a pair of contrasts.
