I’m concerned about jury nullification from a magat. Odds are, there will be at least one or two amongst most groups of 12 people, and that’s enough to block a conviction.

Well, its risk nullification or risk mangolini running free until he keels over.

Given the quality of his defense on E Jean Carrol II his defense will burlesque.

don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those who doesn’t want him indicted, tried, convicted, I’m just trying to be realistic in my expectations.

I think there is a greater chance he strokes out during one of his rallies, and all his dumb followers just think it’s part of the show, and because of that, no one calls for medical attention for several minutes…

I don’t know if you have ever been on a jury. I have been on two and went through most of the jury selection phase for a third. Remember that each member of a jury has to be accepted by both sides. Most MAGAts can’t even withstand Jordan Klepper’s comical questions without looking like the idiots they are. The one thing that might be a problem is a sane person who nonetheless thinks an ex-President simply can’t be convicted of a crime. But I think in a high profile case like this that they would drill down on that question and make pretty darned sure they have a box full of people who are willing and able to follow the letter of the law.

moarscienceplz@4> I imagine a few are at least aware that certain biases can disqualify them, and to either straight up lie, or to be so convinced that it’s a witch-hunt/conspiracy/whatever, that they will claim to “consider evidence” or whatever, but secretly believe all condemning evidence is fabricated/whatever.

These supporters aren’t exactly honest people, afterall…

    Reginald Selkirk@#6:
Former president Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba said on Fox News that she is “ashamed” and “embarrassed” to be a lawyer after the former president was indicted…

I agree with her, but not for the reasons she thinks.

I’ve been reading the indictment and it’s crazy stuff. Clearly, Trump is insane and he has this fixation on those documents because presumably they help him ratify his sense of self-importance. He needs mental health help. Or to be thrown in an oubliette.

Unfortunately due to the writers strike, season 2 is going to run nonstop as more details emerge, along with more indictments. I’m sure Jack Smith is going to be a fan favorite.

It’s certainly dramatic. I hope the finale is good, but I’m expecting it to be like GOTS. The night king dies, but it’s rather anticlimactic and doesn’t provide a sense of resolution.
