    This goes to show the importance of phraseology. If you word a survey question correctly, you can get any answer you like, because they’re giving the answer they think they’re supposed to give.

    Not that long ago, a survey shew that men have sex with women twice as often as women have sex with men. This has stuck in my mind, for some reason.

    If all I’m demonstrating is that “freedom of speech” is seldom practiced by those who fly its banner as the ultimate virtue, isn’t that still supported if they’re “supposed” to indulge in red baiting? If the actual principle was what they cared about, the anti-red propaganda campaigns wouldn’t matter.
