Just wanted to say thank you for your comments!

I have been blown away by how well thought out and sincere the comments have been to many of my blog posts. So many of you are willing to share your stories and I really appreciate it. I love reading them. Being an atheist in Toledo can feel isolating and your comments make me feel connected to a much larger community. I am more confident now in how I live my life even when I don’t always feel accepted here in Ohio.

I just wanted to say thank you so much.

    Hello ashes,

Don’t think I’ve commented ’round these parts before. But I can relate to Toledo a bit. I visited Toledo on a couple occasions way back in the ’90s when I was working for a tech company that consulted with a manufacturer in Perrysburg. Having been a West Coast brat my entire life, the experience was…interesting. It’s surreal for a western heathen to be the only person at a company dinner who doesn’t bow their head and say grace. On the other hands, I did get to attend a Mudhens game and a not-so-bad hot dog joint, so it wasn’t all bad!

      Hi Sean!

I’m guessing the hot dog joint was Tony Packos. That’s a Toledo staple and when people visit from out of town you always take them there. I think I am the only person in Toledo that doesn’t like their food.

I don’t know much about Toledo except that one of the major companies was the one that made all the scales. Tell me more! 😎

I’m also familiar with the platform at the train station. I’m an avid Amtrak rider, and when I have a reason to travel to the East Coast, I typically take the Capitol Limited eastbound and the Lake Shore Limited westbound, both of which stop in Toledo for a crew change (so there’s plenty of time to get out and walk around).
