Today’s Wednesday Wings is the other kind of wings, the one on insects. We’re having a wonderful September or a way too hot one, and at least the bees are enjoying it.
The third is my fave, but beautiful pictures all. The focus effect is interesting in the second.

Nom, nom, nom.
They’re all so bright and pretty that I can’t pick a favourite, but the bee on the drooping goldenrod looks like he’s surfing.

The second goldenrod is my favourite too. As for the first… cabbage butterflies and exposure, exposure and cabbage butterflies, always the same dilemma. Those critters are the very definition of bright white.

Argh, my eyes! All the happy colours!
I love the first photo, the fuzziness and mistiness with the overexposed contrast make a very interesting picture. The second goldenrod shot has got perfect emphasis, though -- practically no background at all! Plus it looks a lot of fun. I’m enjoying the perspective in the pink flower photo, too. Puts you right in the action! Magic.

I miss honeybees and it seems as though many wild native bees have also gotten scarce.

It’s admittedly ridiculous, but whenever I see these articles with lots of insects (especially bees), this plays in my head: Ms. Bee’s Hive

That Bzzzzzzzzzz picture is pure magic.
