I think that kitty in the picture has polydactyly.
That’s almost like having a thumb.

My cat is polydactyl too. He has giant front paws with double thumbs, but since his thumb-toes are incompletely split he can’t retract the claws. He sticks to the rug if we don’t trim them regularly. He doesn’t exactly use the thumbs as thumbs, but he’s very good at catching things out of the air.
There’s a cat I saw at work who has two extra toes on each foot – twenty-six total. She’s almost more foot than cat.
