Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a peaceful weekend!
Last week, an essay I wrote a few months ago was published. It is about my experience with National Poetry Writing Month, which happened to be right around the time of my knee surgery. I explain how the game “Paint Chip Poetry” kept my writing practice on track during my recovery downtime. You can check it out here.
Thank you for your support!
Congrats! In addition to your poetry, you’ve really found your voice as a writer. I didn’t realize you’d written 93 poems in April. That’s a huge production.
The Paint Chip Poetry sounds just like the story-starter cards we had at school in the 1970s. We’d pick a card with a prompt on it like, “If I were invisible…” and we’d have to write a story about it. The teacher made the cards herself from notecards, and I have no idea where she got the idea. I like the idea that someone had to do the same with nail polish colors.
Congrats, it’s an interesting essay.
But I’m a bit disappointed, because I read “pottery” and came to see some ceramics
