Luuuuuurve that colour! Funnily enough, it’s actually called the fat-legged flower beetle. (Well, it’s Oedemera nobilis, more commonly called the thick-legged [flower] beetle, and also the swollen-thighed beetle, but I like how descriptive the common name is in this case.)
Hee. Cristoph called it a thick-legged beetle on his flickr, I forgot to add that! Those thighs are impressive. I’m rather surprised no one went with the time-honoured insult: thunder thigh beetle. That sounds more … metallic. :D
