Now we’re definitely going off the beaten path, here, but with good reason.
I’ve always been aware of Beyoncé, but it wasn’t until I started listening to a podcast called The Read back in early 2016 (or was it late 2015?… I can’t remember) that I went from thinking “she’s talented, but not for me” to “holy shit she’s incredible, I love her music, and I could listen to it daily”. You see, Crissle and Kid Fury are probably more obsessed with Beyoncé’s music than I am with Led Zeppelin’s (which, as y’all know, is saying a lot). And that was infectious, for me, at least.
The first Beyoncé album I bought (through Tidal) was Lemonade (on the recommendation of both TWiBPrime and The Read), both the audio and the visual albums. It was so good I decided that I had to go back and listen to the rest of her solo output. So I did… and I’m definitely now a dedicated fan.
And so we get here…

If you believe the media in Sweden, Friday night was relatively uneventful. Among the most noteworthy headlines in the country were reports that a popular Swedish singer had technical problems during a music competition.
But if you listened to President Trump on Saturday, it seemed as if something happened Friday night in Sweden that deserved the attention of the world. However, nobody knew what that might be, least of all the Swedes.
During a rally Saturday in Florida, Trump referred to several countries that have taken in a disproportionate number of refugees and that have recently been the target of attacks. “We’ve got to keep our country safe. You look at what’s happening in Germany. You look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this?” Trump went on to refer to Paris, Nice, France, and Brussels, European cities where attacks have occurred in the past two years.
A spokeswoman for the Swedish Foreign Ministry told the Associated Press on Sunday that authorities were not aware of any “terror-linked major incidents” that occurred Friday night in Sweden. According to the spokeswoman, the Swedish Embassy in Washington has asked the State Department to clarify Trump’s remarks.

Trump Signs Measure Blocking Obama-Era Rule to Protect Streams
President Donald Trump signed legislation repealing a regulation meant to protect streams from the effects of coal mining.
The congressional resolution killing the so-called Stream Protection Rule, which was issued in the waning days of the Obama administration, follows similar action by Trump overturning an anti-corruption rule that would have required oil companies to disclose payments to foreign governments. Congressional Republicans have plans to send Trump an array of resolutions under the Congressional Review Act, including one to prevent people with serious mental-health problems from buying guns.
“In eliminating this rule I am continuing to keep my promise to the American people to get rid of wasteful regulations,” Trump said at a White House signing ceremony.
Oh yeah. Regulations the protecting the environment are so wasteful…
I knew that finding joy and happiness, and just letting things go and enjoying myself, would be damn near impossible when Trump got elected.
And yet I was still not prepared…
A hearing in El Paso County in Texas went from ordinary to “unprecedented” last week when half a dozen Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents showed up at a courthouse where an undocumented woman was seeking a protective order against the boyfriend she accused of abusing her.
The woman, a citizen of Mexico who was living in El Paso had been driven to the courthouse by a victim’s advocate from the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse where she had been living.
She left under arrest.
