    Love the artwork here.

If I could paint, I’d like to do an accompanying piece on the same ship after coming off worst in a sea battle, wrecked and sinking.

    Something like this :

but without the battle & enemy vessel -- just the burning, wrecked and sinking ship. Cost of war, before & after..?

Battleships (dreadnoughts esp. /specifically) famously cost huge fortunes became national status symbols but also fought only one battle of the sort they’d actually been designed for (Jutland WW I) and were pretty useless really especially vs U-boats and later aircraft.
