Last Night.

There was one hell of a storm in Bismarck last night, winds around 45-50mph, unbelievably heavy rain, the thunder grumbling ranging from magnificent to oh fuck. This was the view from my apartment balcony. Click for full size.

I so wish you could share your rain with us… we keep getting predictions of storms but then they just dry up and the fires keep starting. :-( There are times I wish life was fair. But if it was, well, the whole White House would look TOTALLY different.

    Wonderful shots, Caine!

Rain is supposed to fall here tonight and stay for a couple of days. Can’t complain about the drought this year, if anything we’ve been having an unusually cold and wet late spring/early summer. It’s fine by me, it’s keeping the fires away and the fields green and full of flowers.

I’m sorry about the fires, kestrel, I’d send you some rain too if I could.

Very dramatic shots with the sodium(?) lights adding to the drama. The air was thick with water.

We could do with the rain here too. Saddleworth Moor has been burning for days, I can see the smoke from my bedroom window even though it’s some miles away. The smoke is even showing up in satelite pictures :(

Definitely reminds me of the last two weeks, with 5″ of rain total here in Chiwaukee. The ground got saturated, so there are some trickles in the basement. Looks like they are finally drying up.

I love a good storm. We’ve had lots of rain, but only in light showers and drizzles. Nothing exciting.

Kestrel, I wish I could share too.
