She went to space,
wearing Queen Anne’s lace
riding a Dame’s rocket.
She took with her
a few cups of butter
you’d better not forget her.
She wore a crown of anemones and asters
and had a bed filled with straw
in the cabin of her space-canow.

That is a grand poem! I rather like the name Ontario space-lady, too. I hope you don’t mind if I use it to refer to myself from time to time

Your asters are actually neophytes here and last year we spent quite a time figuring out what kind of flower they are as they overran half of my garden.
Interestingly, without me trying to fight them, there are way less this year.

Between this and the daisies, I feel nearly fortified enough to face the holiday weekend with Husband’s friends and family instead of trying to figure out how to commemorate my own anniversary (of leaving Canada), which coincidentally falls on the same date as the official Midsummer celebration here. I’m still considering staying home and doing fuck-all.
