Jack’s Walk

It’s raining today and rather than get muddy on one of our trails Jack and I decided to stay close to home and walk on the nice, clean concrete sidewalks in our own neighbourhood. We haven’t done that in a while and it was fun to check out everyone’s gardens and see what’s come up and what’s been newly planted. Yesterday we celebrated Victoria Day, and traditionally this holiday weekend is considered the safe date to plant outdoors with no risk of frost. That means that gardeners all around get busy and get their hands dirty. It also means the end of spring bulbs and I do hate to lose the tulips. They’re one of my favourite flowers and they come in so many colours, all of them bright and cheerful. To mark their ending I’m posting these beautiful tulips belonging to one of my neighbours. I think they’re a double tulip, but I don’t know the variety.

You know, I love the feature Jack’s Walk. It’s such a soothing post in the turmoil, the surprises are always pleasant one. I suppose I could be burying my head in the sand but a person can only take so much, and this is balm indeed. Thank you, voyager (and Jack too of course, as well as Caine).

I love these posts and photos too. They’re an invitation to join the walk, and enjoy everything. Love those colours! So beautiful. I especially like the white and pink ones -- you don’t see that variation often. Some popped up in my yard, much to my surprise.

Our tulips are gone now. Our lilac ones did not look anywhere near so good like those in your picture, voyager.

I love the idea that there is a Phantom Tulip Planter surprisin pepole with beautiful tulips where they don’t exect them! If only it were so and it visited all of us.

I love the colours and the way the light shines through the petals.

I concur with kestrel and Caine. Voyager, you said that you enjoyed seeing the places here through my eyes. I can heartily say the same, I enjoy seeing the places there through your eyes.

    Ice Swimmer,
thanks. I think it’s pretty special that people from all over the world come here to share of themselves and their culture. I get to see the world through many eyes.

Everything what kestrel and Caine already said. These slices of Jack’s walk are a delight. For me, with a small touch of something similar to homesickness, in a good way.

Such beautiful tulips! I’ve always loved tulips but I just have no luck with them, this year I planted six bulbs and got two flowers! I am about to give up on them.

I also second everyone else, I’ve been enjoying this Jack’s Walk feature a lot. Everyday you find something beautiful to show us and I’m always looking forward to it.
