Very distinct from the red House Finch and Purple Finch. Has the same confidence though -- not disturbed by much, and certainly not by me! A first sighting is very exciting, because it doesn’t happen very often. Generally, I have the same cast of regulars.
In the fourth the way the bird has its head is slightly equine.

I got curious and checked the Pfft. Apparently redpolls are holarctic and live also in Europe
including in Finland. Here they are called urpiainen and Urpiainen is also a surname.
