    They always are! I love the combination of those portly bellies and pipe cleaner legs. Oh, saw my first spherical Grackle gal yesterday, the babies are on the way!

    Kengi, going by what you said the other day, you’ll have babes before I do, mine are being late starters. The Downys and the Jays are seriously gulping down the suet here, hopefully there will be many babies.

    Yeah, I’m still seeing a lot of nest building. The robins are taking dried grass and mashing it in with any spot of wet mud they can find before flying off with the wad. I lost track of my pregnant blue jays. We got a new batch of them (you can stop sending me your extras now) and it’s now getting very difficult to tell the individuals apart.

    Which reminds me. I need to buy some oranges for the orioles…

    Haven’t seen any yet this year, but they start coming around here in April and build their hanging nests soon after. The first one I saw after moving here was in the third week of April when a female was hanging on to the window frame looking into the house.

    Talking about nesting reminded me of them.
