    Beeeea-utiful! Lots of big, shiny, noisy grackles are back here in Canada too.

    (My late father-in-law hated them -- as many other bird-feeding people do. I simply cannot fathom that attitude.)

    I know people hate them. They are certainly hated here, but I agree with you. I love them to pieces, and they give me constant joy. They make me laugh more than any other dinosaurs, with their endearing clumsiness, and I’m listening to the croak and puff and whistle right now, and it just makes me smile.

    Charly, they are also very awkward, clumsy birds, which is endearing, and easily intimidated by sparrows! And prior to whistling, they puff themselves up, so they look like feathered beach balls!

    In the second picture, the grackle manages to look like a fish. Also the iridescent colours are nicely shown.
