Vaughn Ohlman, Quiverfull Patriarch, has now set up a ‘Get Them Married‘ Retreat, a place where Christians can look over stock, and arrange marriages.
“That our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace.”
Pardon me for not saying much, I clicked around on that site a bit too much, and I’m definitely feeling queasy.

This is interesting
Gregory in Seattle says
The Bible is quite clear that females have value only insofar as they are virgins who can pop out male children at least once a year. So, really, it is no surprise that fundamentalists would set up what amounts to a cattle fair for their daughters.

It doesn’t sound pleasant for the boys either.

Looking at the prices, it’s amazing how much money you can fleece off patriarchal bastards.
I mean, compare that money to a three day con with world class actors and a hotel room….
But hey, this is Western culture, right? Not like those horrible brown muslim people in the Middle East….

Libby Anne has put up a post about this very thing. It’s as nauseating as you describe.
Caine says
Thanks for the link, Onamission5. She has a lot more info, not that it’s helping the nausea.
Onamission5 says
Yeah, sorry about that.
I find the choice of Kansas, um, interesting, since children as young as 15 can be married there with parental permission and there’s no residency requirement for issuing licenses, just a three day waiting period. So they’ve picked a state in which parents can bring their teenaged to this retreat on a Friday and marry them off by Monday.

teenaged = teenagers (Hail Typos)

The girl in the picture looks way too young to be shackled to a marriage and pregnancies that she probably doesn’t want. :/ I don’t suppose this counts as human trafficking (and I mean legally; it already is, according to me, but the law might say otherwise…).

There’s an update. The Salvation Army has denied them use of the grounds in Kansas.
