Tree Tuesday

These photos were sent in by one of our readers, VBFF, and I absolutely love them. I am very much missing my east coast beach this year and these pictures gave me a great big smile. Sand + water + driftwood = happiness. Thanks!

To me, it looks like some primeval creature washed up on the shores of the first ocean. Intimidating, yet beautiful.

It looks like that thing could self-organise itself any moment and form a zombie deer.

    I like the pictures.

It’s the bones of the Ancient One. It seeks the One who knows the Incantation that will reflesh this skeleton, reteeth this mouth, and repower the might that will avenge all the wrongs of the earth!

Ice Swimmer -- That reminds me of a certain evocative passage in Kalevala, where the devil creates a demonic moose out of rotten logs and other plant residue. (IIRC, this was in association with Lemminkäinen’s first heroics, the moose hunt etc.)
