From Nightjar,
Quinacridone.
A family of widely used synthetic pigments with a deep red to violet color range. This opening Petunia flower is reminiscent of some quinacridone shades.

Wow, that is gorgeous! And quinacridone is a new colour family for me.
Ooooh, good one!
The picture is absolutely astounding.
The word is unpronounceable without hearing it, at least for me.
Charly
google translate has a function that speaks the word in the translation box
Gorgeous. The light is amazing and so is the flower. And, best of all I learned a new color. At my age that’s pretty cool.
Thanks! I also didn’t know about quinacridone pigments prior to this. The only other option I could find for Q was “queen blue”, but I didn’t think that was as appropriate. “Queen” is not a color and blue doesn’t start with Q. And I thought quinacridone was much more interesting anyway. :)
I came up guessing with “quince”, but I think it’s more fruit that colour. :D
The metallic sheen is nice with the quinacridone violet.
English (along with French and Italian) at least has some common q-words, but there are some languages that have almost no words beginning with q.
