I am no expert on horses. In fact, my knowledge about horses is quite abysmal. But at the resort where I vacationed this year they had this mare and she was kind enough to pose for a few pictures. And I think she is beautiful.
What a beauty.
BTW, I find horse words in English and German pretty fascinating, because they’re the same and so different.
A mare clearly is related to Mähre, but Mähre in German means “old horse”.
A steed is related to Stute, but Stute in German is what mare is in English.

So lovely. She looks like a Haflinger to me but who knows. She is pretty all the same.

For horses that get a good gig life is pretty great! Look at that pasture!
