    Depicting pain is not simple; these are outstanding works.

    There is also the one (I have seen somewhere) of gout, represented as a demon with its fangs latched onto some guy’s toe. I can attest to the accuracy of that.

    There are dozens of plates dealing with gout so far, if I run into that particular one, I’ll be sure to post it.

    Okay, that first one is exactly me 24 hours ago. I was at a wedding and I think a combination of tiredness, boredom, cold feet and being way too close to the audio speakers playing bad music loudly while I tried to eat triggered the worst headache I’ve had in a long time. I have to say, that depiction is spot on.

    The bell is what makes it. I hate that resonant feeling compounding the pain, just nasty.
    And the colic image is spot-on, as well: sawed in half, indeed.
