Breaking: Trump Fires Comey.

Surprise! It seems that Comey has just now become a cause for concern when it comes to security. One liar down, about a zillion to go.

FBI Director James B. Comey has been dismissed by the president, according to White House spokesman Sean Spicer.

“The president has accepted the recommendation of the Attorney General and the deputy Attorney General regarding the dismissal of the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” Spicer told reporters in the briefing room.

Spicer also said that Comey was “notified a short time ago.” This is effective “immediately,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the FBI notified Congress that Comey misstated key findings involving the Hillary Clinton email investigation during testimony last week, saying that only a “small number’’ of emails had been forwarded to disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner, not the “hundreds and thousands’’ he’d claimed in his testimony.

The letter was sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, more than a week after Comey testified for hours in defense of his handling of the Clinton probe.

I guess Sheriff David Clarke can get a spot in the administration now.

  2. says

Oh, I hope not, but he’s been after one, to say the least. Comey deserved to be fired, a long time ago, actually, but the timing is rotten. Apparently, Trump is simply going to start firing everyone he doesn’t like or views as a threat. Our pink slips should arrive any day now.

You know I was being sarcastic, but I wouldn’t put anything, even that wildly stupid, past 45.

So Comey’s gone, but who’s going to step into his position? I shudder. I agree, he needs to be gone, but I don’t feel that Trump will put someone competent in his place.

  5. says

No, of course he won’t! This is all too convenient for the wannabe dictator, especially in light of just how tromped on he was in the recent hearings.

    It’d be an improvement.

On what fucking planet? I don’t think Mr. Whacko “All atheists should get a bullet to the head” Norris would help on this one.

  7. says

Oh I don’t think any of Norris’ statements are any more serious than Nugent’s.

But now that you mention it, Norris really is a horribly unqualified person for the job, which puts him in the running along with Pee Wee Herman, and the Keystone Kops. I’d like to see the FBI get drenched in shit during this process and it looks like the SS FBItanic is headed right for a shitberg.

OMFG!!! David Clarke’s name was actually mentioned as a “wildcard” with an “outside chance” to be appointed this morning. Jesus Fucking Christ!! I was KIDDING!!

  9. says

This is another idiotic system in USA. That the investigated has the power to fire the head of investigating apparatus on a whim is another proof (as if there were not enough already) that the alleged US Democracy is just oligarchy with a thin veneer of democratic paint. And Trum is so incompetent at even oligarching that he makes the veneer crinckle and show what is really underneath to the rest of the world.

  10. rq says

This ain’t just deep shit anymore, it’s a veritable quagmire stretching right down to the earth’s molten core.
(re: ye olde Plan W mentioned elsewhere, I certainly hope the rest of the world has one!)
