Also, from the schedule, I am very intrigued by the singing contest. That would certainly be something to hear.

I haven’t been to a powwow in … too long.
Those photos are fabulous, the regalia are fabulous.
    I ♥ the dragonfly grandmother.

    Beautiful. Wish I could go.

Last year we had the great privilege to be personally invited to a feast day at Taos Pueblo. It was amazing and unforgettable.

We had a grand chat about art, and beading. She makes a lot of regalia, and has a serious thing for dragonflies. I do too.

Thanks, everyone. We’ll be heading out to the camps on Thursday, the 8th, then it’s 3 days of wacipi. And I know it’s not the healthiest thing, but I can’t wait to stuff myself with an Indian Taco.

    Agreed, beautiful pictures and regalia.

That’s part of special occasions/celebrations, though, right? To eat food you don’t normally have. Enjoy!

(Although it’s been a few years, Mrs. & I would attend a local annual Greek festival and eat all the food. Especially Greek pastries…yummm. Great, now I have a need to dig out my grandmother’s recipes and make some :-))

Looking forward to hearing about your time at Pow Wow, and continuing my learning.
