Yes, a female house sparrow. Every individual feather around the eye looks like it was put exactly in place to produce the swooping effect. And the way the light feathers come up over the wings seems like it was purposeful as well.
Dare I say, she looks like a hipster sparrow. Regardless, a beautiful bird.

What’s amazing is how you can see that in your photo, Kengi. Very stylish bird!

The basic tennis-ball shape shows that clearly the inner rat had too much glue and is now feeling a bit, ah, full…

rq: Thanks. She seemed very comfortable in front of the camera. Obviously it wasn’t her first modelling gig. In fact, I suspect that little feather on the top left of the eye wasn’t even hers. It looks like she took it from another bird and put it there as a decoration.
Such a beauty, that little one. She does look like she came straight from a nice Spa weekend.
It is a female House Sparrow, right?

A very well-preened bird lady, indeed, and sitting so level on the branch that’s anything but. A fine setting, also.
Stealing feathers from other birds for the sake of fashion?? Nooooo!
