    Yes, a female house sparrow. Every individual feather around the eye looks like it was put exactly in place to produce the swooping effect. And the way the light feathers come up over the wings seems like it was purposeful as well.

    Dare I say, she looks like a hipster sparrow. Regardless, a beautiful bird.

    rq: Thanks. She seemed very comfortable in front of the camera. Obviously it wasn’t her first modelling gig. In fact, I suspect that little feather on the top left of the eye wasn’t even hers. It looks like she took it from another bird and put it there as a decoration.

    A very well-preened bird lady, indeed, and sitting so level on the branch that’s anything but. A fine setting, also.
