I can see some advantages to having a piece of red-and-white rope as a mayor; e.g., quite flexible. On the other hand, things probably get tied up a lot, not so much, perhaps, in bureaucracy, but with the executive.

:Snort: Russ was setting stuff up for Labour Day weekend, a huge thing here, people come from all over the place to land here for a drunken weekend. (This is a tiny place, less than 100 residents in “town”, about a 1,000 show up for LD weekend).

Not a lot of politics here, unless we’re talking about getting the town’s water main repaired correctly, for the 4th year in a row.

Next mayor should be a roll of duck tape then. This new mayor can be used to repair the pipe, and is quite effective at getting people to shut up, especially if the previous(current) mayor is holding them still.
