It’s surprisingly difficult to get a closed eye picture, they usually end up blurred. I was quite surprised I got two of them! Our mourning dove population is finally back up to good numbers (they were mostly driven out a few years back by collared doves), and I’m so happy about that. I love hearing their song in the evenings.

That is a lovely dove and I do love the closed eye pictures, I don’t think I ever got one so perfect!
They seem to be good at doing that. Over here collared doves have been driving out our turtle doves.

Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. The collared doves are much larger, and they are serious bullies. Oh, the turtle doves are so beautiful!
