While the plumage is wet
and the lilac branch erect,
the posture is level.
Chickadees are always adorable little bundles of fluff. When I first started feeding birds a steady stream of them all day long was my initial reward. No matter what new food I put out the chickadees were eager to try it, jumping from one perch to the next to see what was there.
Now that the larger birds dominate the feeders the chickadees only dart in when there’s a break in the action. Always a welcome sight.

That they are! It’s no surprise Chickadee worked it’s way into language meaning sweetheart. Ours aren’t in the least intimidated by the big dinosaurs, but there’s a high number of them living on property. You can always hear their call throughout the day.
Chickadees are absolutely adorable, though feisty and also carnivores, so watch out. ;) But I love how low-key their plumage is, and how high-key their personalities (usually) are. We get a bout 6 different kinds of tits, which I prefer to call chickadees, and it is so much fun to watch them all interact.

There’s nothing quite like watching the pure joy of a Chickadee discovering a juicy bug in the seed. :D
