I bought myself some honey
Cos my yogurt needs a touch—
It cost very little money
(Since I hadn’t very much)
It was purchased in Bulgaria
Which really was a pain
Cos to bring my honey back with me
I had to take a plane. [Read more…]

I have the world’s worst memory, or so I think someone told me once. Anyway, I very often write stuff which I completely forget I wrote. The good part about that is, I sometimes get a link to something I wrote some time ago, and I get to read it all over again, which most of the time is actually pretty cool. Yeah, sometimes it is embarassingly horrible, but I am actually rather astonished at how often I actually really actually like the stuff I wrote so long ago that I forgot about it. If any of that parses.
I mean, really, if you don’t regularly look through the archives here from years ago, you are missing some really cool things! [Read more…]
Rick Perry’s the first to be leaving, conceiving
Of no way to puncture The Donald’s balloon
And who will be next to go under? We wonder
(The smart money says it will likely be soon!)
The polls would call many contenders pretenders

My concern for you is genuine,
It’s heartfelt, true, and strong
And it hurts my very soul to see
The way they do you wrong
Now, I’ve got a few suggestions
Of some things that you could do
So just put your life on hold
While I pontificate to you. [Read more…]
I broke my leg while hiking, and it really, REALLY hurt;
As I waited for assistance, calmly writhing in the dirt,
I was contemplating this and that, anticipating hell,
And I hoped the paramedics fixed my other limbs as well!
Just the one was really broken, and the other three were fine,
But, the thing is, all limbs matter, and of course, these limbs are mine! [Read more…]
A few weeks ago (wow, maybe a couple of months already), I got a call asking for donations for some group supporting our brave, misunderstood, and oft-attacked police officers. Recent news events made it very easy to hang up on them, but as soon as I did, I regretted not having asked the rep what the organization’s official stance was on the Tamir Rice shooting (this gives you several possible time-frames for when I got the call). This time around, it was an email, not a phone call, and I want to take a bit of time to unpack it. [Read more…]
