The Islamists in Mali aren’t bothering about winning hearts and minds. Hundreds of people protested their plan to chop off someone’s hand and a radio journalist was beaten up for urging the protesters on.
“We don’t want to know what this young man did, but they are not going to cut his hand off in front of us,” a resident said on Sunday, according to the AFP news agency.
Journalist Abdoul Malick Maiga has now regained consciousness after being beaten by MUJAO fighters, a doctor at Gao’s hospital told AFP.
One resident said Mr Maiga was attacked live on air.
Oumar Ould Hamaha, a fighter who said he was speaking as a MUJAO spokesman, confirmed the incident, according to the Reuters news agency.
“We don’t care about secularism, democracy, the international community or others. People must accept that we will impose Sharia whether they like it or not,” he said.
“It is not tramps like journalists who are going to stop us.”
The religion of peace.
A group of religious bullies will impose their beliefs on others regardless of the others’ desires.
Very Christian of them.
But an absolute dictatorship with no differences or disagreements allowed is indeed peace. It is just not freedom or justice.
I don’t think the religion of peace crack is justified considering the protestors would have been mostly Muslims as well.
I don’t often have a lot of good things to say about journalists in the U.S., but these shitstains aren’t fit to lick the feet of someone like Maiga.

I have no problem with that comment of Ophelia’s, just as I think it’s fair to use sarcasm about the brotherly love of Christians during the Albigensian Crusade, or the patriotism of Romans during the Civil Wars of the Late Republic, or the loyalty of Loyalists in Belfast when blowing up officers of the crown.
The problem is that people turn around and use that to block people from emigrating out to somewhere safe.
Islamists are what they are. It seems futile to pretend they have nothing to do with Islam. Of course, not all Muslims want to be ruled by Islamists, but that fact doesn’t determine what “Islam” is about. Is it the religion of peace? Or is it what it says on the tin, Submission? Or is it 1.6 billion different things, one for each Muslim (including all the merely demographic ones)?
