Orlando transcript – Obama’s self goal

The FBI first came out with a censored transcript of conversation between Islamist terrorist and Orlando Police control room. The censoring was supposed to be to prevent further publicity to ISIS. Later after pressure from social media and Republicans they were forced to come out with full transcript.
What is the purpose of hiding the well known fact that the killer proclaimed allegiance to ISIS ?
Does the Obama administration think releasing full transcript will help Right wingers like Trump ?
Actually it’s a self goal by Obama.
It is such censoring that make people think Trump is right when he says the Administration is weak against terrorism and Islamism.

Ahem, sorry to be pedantic but I think the usual term is “own goal” here, for whatever little that is worth.

(Feel free to correct and delete this accordingly.)

The picture of the victims says it all. I’m not sure hearing the killers exact words is all that helpful – although I can see a case for total transparency unless there is an absolutely crucial reason for censoring something; e.g. state secrets or helping catch the killet – obviously neither of those applying here.

What is the purpose of hiding the well known fact that the killer proclaimed allegiance to ISIS ?

I don’t know but whatever their thinking here – their because I’m not sure Obama made tehactual decision especially not him alone and unadvised – I agree it wasn’t a bright idea.

Does the Obama administration think releasing full transcript will help Right wingers like Trump ?

Again, I really don’t know but its one possibility albeit one that’s pretty futile and counter-productive given it was already known and what censoring they did do, didn’t really keep that information secret effectively even if it should have been done which, no it probably shouldn’t have been.

It is such censoring that make people think Trump is right when he says the Administration is weak against terrorism and Islamism.

Yet it was Obama who got Osama bin Laden where Bush before him failed to do so. Obama has been taking action and taking out terrorists and that despite the crippling obstructionism of the US Congress which has made it so hard for him to do anything much at all. I don’t think Obama is the greatest President but I also don’t think he’s anywhere near the worst and I don’t think he’s been given a proverbial fair go.

I can understand given the propaganda about Obama why some folks think he’s weak against Islamism and Jihadism. Do you agree with that though? I don’t although I’ll admit perhaps he could’ve been stronger in some aspects but perhaps at too high a price in lives and integrity and ethics. I am glad I’m not the one who has to make the decisions or be in Obama’s shoes here.

Incidentally, I wonder if it would’ve been better to include the actual Arabic words used and then provide a translation? What do you think? I don’t personally don’t really know.
