Fiona is a baby hippo who was born 6 weeks prematurely at the Cincinnati Zoo. Keeping her alive was a massive undertaking, but she’s thriving now and has just celebrated her second birthday. Here’s a quick look back at some of the highlights of the past 2 years.
1000 lbs of cuuuuute.
The adult hippo Fiona is interacting with, is that her mother or an “auntie”?
This post has finally settled a question I’ve been silently asking.
And yay for Fiona, live long and prosper!
Nerd,
Yep, that’s her mom. That was actually the first time they’d seen each other since her birth. No-one knew what to expect, but it went incredibly well.
I know, hippos are fierce, but I so want to pet one one day. They’re my most favouritest animals, followed by donkeys and sloths.
That is the worst cat. So moist and sticky looking. So sad. It doesn’t know how bad it is at being a cat.
Raucous Indignation
Goodness, don’t do that to me!!!
