Yeah, disposable they are, but it’s not grand art or anything, either. Basically, doodling. :D

I’m loving that cloud and the thunderbolt. And I respectfully disagree that it isn’t “grand art.” I could doodle all day and it would end up looking like shit. Or a rock in a box. It would definitely not look the least bit artistic. Maybe, you just do art so naturally and intuitively that you take your talent for granted. Your ostomy bags are beautiful. I would hang them for display. Their impermanence makes them all the more compelling.

Beautiful and dramatic!

Very nice! May I ask how long it takes, approximately, to do this? Also, any particular cognitions while doing it, or looking at it later? Any feelings of satisfaction or defiance? :)

Time, depends. Anywhere from 2 hours for simple, to 5 hours for the more fiddly ones. I do the gesso prep ahead of time, so I have a stack ready to go. These are fair small, so I can do them on my desk in between bouts of blogging.
No on the specific thinking. I doodle best when I’m not thinking about what I’m doing at all. A good time to let my thoughts wander onto other things. I catch up with my fellow bloggers posts while doodling, gives me plenty to think about. Later? Eh…’that’s an okay one.’
Satisfaction comes in wearing them, not the doing. Even when I’m not going anywhere. I’m in the habit of being unclothed at home, and having a nice bag to wear breaks the impulse to “cover my shame”. When going out, this way, I don’t feel as though I have to tuck the bag down my pants, which is very uncomfortable, or wear something very baggy or long to cover it.
And, as I’ve said before, along with a wide range of solid colours, I’d love for bags to come in pre-printed colour your own. The latter wouldn’t take any time at all to do, just whip out the markers and colour!

It’s a shame these are so… impermanent.

Aww, thank you. I might do a permanent piece, about fighting stigma.
Thank you all!
